Our Constitution
Our Constitution serves as the foundation for a society committed to enhancing social well-being through meaningful connection. We are united by a shared mission: to promote and facilitate opportunities for authentic dialogue, reduce social isolation and loneliness, and build stronger, more inclusive communities. Grounded in established research on the importance of social health, this Constitution outlines the principles, values, and structures that guide our efforts to foster connection and improve the quality of life for all individuals.
The Purposes of the Society are:

To advance mental and social health by promoting and facilitating social connection through conversation in order to reduce loneliness and social isolation within communities.

To advance public awareness and education regarding the importance of social health and its impact on emotional, mental, and physical well-being.

To collaborate with schools, businesses, community organizations, and health services to foster inclusive and supportive environments that encourage social connection.

To engage volunteers and community members in activities that strengthen empathy, belonging, and interpersonal connection.

To develop and distribute educational materials and resources related to social health, loneliness, and community well-being.

To support informed public understanding and discussion of issues related to social health, loneliness, and community resilience.

To receive, acquire, and administer funds, donations, grants, and property solely for the purposes of the Society.

To collaborate with local, provincial, national, and international organizations on initiatives that further the charitable purposes of the Society.
DISSOLUTION CLAUSE
​
Upon dissolution of the Society, any remaining assets after payment of debts and liabilities shall be transferred to one or more qualified donees as defined in the Income Tax Act (Canada) having purposes similar to those of the Society, as determined by the Board of Directors.
