HOLD FAST CAMPAIGN

IMG_1582.jpeg

OUR HOPE:

The oceans guarding our beautiful West Coast are as graceful as they are fierce.  Mariners once tattooed the phrase “Hold Fast” across their knuckles as a lifesaving reminder – never let go of the ropes, even in the harshest of storms.

Sometimes the seas of life get choppy, leaving us feeling alone in the storm.  But Hold Fast, because you are not alone; you’re just in the middle of the ride.

Let this coin be a reminder that you are part of something bigger, and even on the darkest days, you never walk alone.

Thank you for supporting West Coast Speaks.  For every donation over $15, we will mail a Hold Fast coin to every person who helps us reach our goal. After you donate, we will reach out to you via email to request your preferred mailing address, as our way of saying thanks for your commitment to community and connection. Alternatively, you can put your address in the "comment" section of the donation form. We are hoping to raise $10,000 to do a large production run of Sitka hats, and start getting them out into the community.  Your support allows us to run these projects that touch the lives of many, and help to reduce isolation and loneliness in Victoria.  Thank you.

We acknowledge with gratitude that we live, work, and gather on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) Peoples, known today as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations.

We also recognize the ongoing relationships with the W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples, whose historic connections to this land remain strong and deeply rooted.

As settlers and guests on these lands, we commit to listening, learning, and taking meaningful steps toward reconciliation, while honouring the enduring presence, wisdom, and resilience of the Indigenous Peoples who have cared for these lands since time immemorial.
